Dual Visor Helmets are the Future of Motorcycle Helmets

Motorcycle helmets come in a variety of styles that offer varying degrees of protection. It is agreed upon by most safety professionals that full face helmets offer more protection that other helmet styles such as the “Flip-Up” helmet and Open Face helmet. Fortunately, for the sake of the rider’s wellbeing, there is no compromise needed here when considering a dual visor helmet. Dual visors are usually found on the full face helmets.
Dual visors provide the same function that single visor helmets provide with the external lens. This part of the visor operates on a hinge and can be raised and lowered. On a dual visor helmet, this external lens is most often clear. This differs from single lens helmets, which often have an unchangeable tint. Because of this, owners of single lens helmets have to purchase multiple visors and also have to continually install either the clear or the tinted lens depending on whether they are riding at night or are riding with the sun out in front of them.
The dual visor helmet solves this problem and lets you spend more time on the road and less time with a screwdriver in hand. By providing the clear outer visor, it removes the need to ever detach or replace the external lens. This outer plastic will perform its traditional job, providing eye protection, keeping the wind off of your face, and keeping your skin unaffected in the event of a crash. The inner visor is the “sunglasses” lens. These visors come in a variety of shades and because they are only meant to cover the eyes, they are smaller and do not encroach on your nose space or make you feel uncomfortable and cramped. They are also retractable, though in a different way than the outer visor. While the outer visor pivots on its attachment point near the temples, the inner lens can be raised straight up into the helmet in a way that is truly convenient. The best part about this convenience is that the typical dual visor helmet is not even more expensive than the traditional one visor alternative. These types of helmets can be found in a huge range of aesthetic styles for under 100 dollars. There are upper end models that can reach as much as 200 dollars but most people will be able to find what they are looking for at lower price.
